Robin Scott
Robin Scott was born in beautiful Wensleydale at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the North of England.
Robin spent his formative years in Leyburn, at the Wensleydale School to GCSE level before moving to Richmond School.
Following a year spent managing The Green Dragon Inn (home of England’s highest above ground waterfall) Robin moved to Newcastle University to read law in 2003.
It was while an undergraduate at Newcastle that Robin first entered the world of e-commerce during his free time as he looked to establish a business to provide an income to help fund his studies.
Robin began selling a number of products and services via online auction websites using a variety of automation techniques and quickly migrated to selling his ideas in the form of ebooks and email subscriptions via the newly begun 24 Hour Trading website: the name indicative of his desire to sell ’round the clock’.
One of the services Robin launched in 2004, Systemlays UK, won him the Newcastle University Enterprise Challenge 2006 Award overall prize for Business Viability in addition to their award for Achievement in E-Commerce. Systemlays was sold in 2011, after 5 years of successful operation, and the brand is still a successful name in the digital horse racing prediction software industry.
In 2006, following his graduation from Newcastle, Robin flew to Australia for a year abroad, during which he worked for major law firms in Brisbane as well as continuing to develop the online business at 24 Hour Trading by working on a number of successful web development projects for third parties in Melbourne, Sydney and latterly the Adelaide Hills region.
At the end of 2007, Robin welcomed Linda Haywood as a partner before offering Jonathan Farrington, with whom Robin worked on a number of projects in Australia, a role within the partnership.
In 2010 the business was incorporated into a limited company with Robin, Linda and Jonathan as directors.
Robin Scott became a director of 24 Hour Trading Ltd on 23rd July 2010.
As Director of Web Properties at 24 Hour Trading Ltd, Robin’s day-to-day role is to oversee the ongoing and new development of all 24 Hour Trading Ltd projects, in addition to his continuing role at the head of the company’s board.
