Jono Farrington – Director, 24 Hour Trading Ltd

Jono completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Oenology) from the University of Adelaide (formerly the Roseworthy Agricultural College). He also holds a Post Graduate Degree in Business Management from Monash University.

The Wine Maker

His wine industry experience include working as a winemaker for Petaluma in the Adelaide Hills under the legendary Brian Croser. He was then sent to Smithbrook in the Pemberton region of Western Australia, then owned by Petaluma. He spent 6 years at Smithbrook managing the vineyard and winery, and during that time also completed a vintage at Chateau Carsin in Bordeaux.

The Show Jumper

The two years leading into 2008, he travelled the world with his partner sampling the world’s best wines, and also fulfilling his other passion of equestrian competition. This included riding and training with Jos Lansink for 8 months, the 2006 Showjumping World Champion based in Belgium. He also trained and competed with Dominey Alexander in Johannesburg, South Africa, an international Springbok showjumper, dressage rider and trainer.

The Online Entrepreneur

In 2008 Jono was instrumental in developing key global web properties including (later sold by 24 Hour Trading). The Wine Blokes drove over £250,000 in wine sales to its partnered retailers in two years, from a standing start.

Other initiatives include co-developing and integrating other 24HourTrading web properties including online shopping comparison site, and, a global equestrian sports blog. Both sites were later acquired.

Mixing Business with Passion

Currently Jono divides his time between running his own equestrian training and coaching and competition business in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, and business development for 24 Hour Trading Ltd. He also helped to found the Australian equestrian daily deals site Galloperz.

Jono became a director of 24 Hour Trading Ltd on 23rd July 2010.
